A woman has recalled the terrifying moment she was sitting in her parked car when another vehicle ploughed into it.
ZsaZsa Daniel had just got into her 2013 Honda Jazz when the crash happened in Kingsdown Road, Walmer, near Deal last week.
She was about to close the driver’s side door before a vehicle came speeding down the road, ploughing into her car door.
The 50-year-old, who is undergoing chemotherapy and was on her way to the hospital for a scan, told of her shock after she was “almost killed” in the hit-and-run.
“It was scary,” she said. “Last year I had a car drive into the back of me and write my car off on the motorway, then 11 weeks later a van drove into the back of my on the Duke of York roundabout and wrote my new car off – I feel like you can’t make this stuff up.
“I was about to leave for a hospital appointment and there were no drivers on the road when I got into my car.
“I went to put my hand on the car door to shut it and this driver drove really fast down the road and it looks like they deliberately drove into me, but they were swerving.
“They drove into the car door – I don’t know how they didn’t manage to take my arm off because it was on the handle.
“They then swerved up the road, almost hitting other cars but he didn’t.
“They then shot off all while I was screaming in the road for them to stop. It made a vacuum sound and a huge jolt so they definitely knew they’d hit me.
“I was almost killed.”
Ms Daniel says as the shock took over she could not see the number plate or make of the vehicle but thinks it was a dark blue estate.
“I couldn’t see the number plate and I was shaking,” she said.
“They broke their front headlight too as lots of debris was left on the road.
“I couldn’t shut the door because it was so badly damaged so I had to leave the car, and go to my hospital appointment before it was towed away.”
Ms Daniel has since contacted the police and shared the incident on Facebook in a bid for anyone who saw anything to come forward.
She added she is unsure when her car will be repaired and how much the repairs might cost.
“I never thought that they would not stop,” she added.
“The injustice is so frustrating and they shouldn’t get away with it.
“I also normally park out the back of my house but had got back late the night before and had to leave early for my hospital appointment so parked out the front.
“I just don’t know how I wasn’t hurt or killed.”
A spokesman for police said officers were contacted on Wednesday, April 10 following a report that a car, described as a black or navy estate, had collided with the open door of a parked vehicle in Kingsdown Road, Walmer.
A spokesman said: “The incident reportedly took place at around 7.35am that morning.
“Anyone with information about the collision, or CCTV or dashcam footage which may assist investigators, should contact police at www.kent.police.uk/report.
“No serious injuries were reported.”
