A drug dealer serving 12 years for smuggling was branded a liar by a judge and ordered to hand over more than a quarter of a million of his loot.
Now John Creasy, 49, is facing the prospect of selling his property and fleet of cars to pay for his illegal deals.
Creasy, of Guston Road, East Langdon, had tried to claim his part in the multi-million pound drug operation to smuggle heroin, cocaine and amphetamine into the UK, was sorting out transport.
His lawyers told Canterbury Crown Court that he was to be paid £10,000 for his role in the conspiracy but never actually received a penny!
A hearing under the Proceeds of Crime Act was held in which Creasy gave evidence about the secret drug operation.
“Creasy is evasive and wholly lacking in any consistency or credibility” - Judge Adele Williams
However, Judge Adele Williams ruled he was “evasive and wholly lacking in any consistency or credibility” adding: “I am sure that he has not told me the truth.
She decided that Creasy had made £467,500 out of the drug smuggling and ruled his assets including properties – one called Del Ranch – and cars worth a total of £265,295 could be seized.
Creasy, who appeared by prison video link for the five minute hearing, was told he had three months to pay up or face another three years behind bars.
Judge Williams said: “I do not believe his account of his involvement with the vehicles.”
She said she rejected Creasy’s claim that it was coincidence him meeting another conspirator who was then arrested with £23,000 in drug-contaminated cash in a carrier bag.
Creasy was in a gang of three involved in a multi-million pound heroin, cocaine and amphetamine ring.
He was jailed after pleading guilty to charges of money laundering and conspiracy to import controlled drugs.
Officers arrested the three men after a 16-month investigation, and grabbed heroin, cocaine and amphetamine with a street value of more than £2.1 million.
Police arrested Creasy and further investigations revealed he owned a fleet of 17 vehicles, including BMWs, Mercedes and a Range Rover, but declared no lawful form of income.
