A two-hour spinathon will help a Deal marathon runner reach her £2,200 target for the NSPCC.
Kerry Creasy, 44, of The Fairway, will be taking part in the London challenge on Sunday, April 24, raising cash for the children’s charity which is close to her heart.
Her friend Samantha Reid, manager of Deal’s newest gym Total Fitness in Mill Hill, offered to help her by hosting a spinathon, tomorrow (Friday).
Miss Reid said: “I know Kerry from outside of the gym. She told me she was running the marathon and I said how we’re not running classes on a Friday nights at the moment, did she want to do a spinathon.
“She was really over the moon with the idea.”
It will be from 6pm until 8pm. Entry is £10 with all funds going to the NSPCC.
Miss Reid, an aerobic instructor, will be joined by Emily Gard to coach participants through the endurance session, complete with disco lights.
The gym is holding a raffle with prizes including a free month’s membership worth £55 and loyalty cards for six free smoothies and six free protein shakes.
Raffle tickets cost £2 a strip or three for £5 and are available from the gym. The prize draw will be on Saturday.
Miss Reid said: “If you haven’t visited us before this would be a good time to do it, and raise money for charity at the same time. You don’t have to be a member to take part. We currently have six places left.”
This is the first charity event Total Fitness will be hosting and the team there are looking forward to holding more.
“We’d like to raise £200 to support Kerry,” Miss Reid added.
