Dover-born singer Joss Stone is returning to her roots next week and giving an “intimate” concert in Dover Town Hall.

Tickets are due to go on sale today (Thursday) for the event which is planned for Wednesday evening. The next night she is giving another concert at Castle Community College in Deal.

“I’ve decided to play some shows at home – come along, we’ll have a laugh,” said Joss, who was born at Buckland Hospital and attended St Mary’s Primary School.

The family lived in Albert Road before moving from Dover to Devon when she was eight.

She shot to fame after being featured on Junior Star For The Night when she was 14.

Joss spends much of her time in America although she visits Dover from time to time to see her relatives. She was here a couple of weeks ago, but kept news of these local concerts secret.

Joss says she will be singing some of her new songs from the album Colour Me Free which is yet to be released, as well as some favourites from previous albums.
