Karen Stupples was back to something like her best form at the weekend following her recent appendix operation.

The Deal golfer (pictured right) finished joint 18th in the LPGA State Farm Classic in Springfield, Illinois with a 10-under-par total of 278, seven shots behind the winner, South Korean In-Kyung Kim.

Stupples, who won $19,503 (£12,130), is this week playing in the second women's golf "major" of the year, the McDonald's Championship at Havre de Grace in Maryland.
