Two children have been rescued from a dinghy that was being taken out to sea by the tide and wind.
Dover Sea Safari, who offer coastal tours for families, identified the youngsters one mile off Kingsdown at about 1pm on Wednesday.
Today, the tour firm - which is operated by community interest company Dover Marine Services - has shared the story behind the rescue along with a safety message on their Facebook page.
The boys, aged 14 and 15, had been playing in the water in their dinghy when it began to drift out.
Wearing shorts and no life jackets, they were spotted by James Salmon, director of Dover Marine Services, during a sea safari.
He picked them up and transported them back, along with their inflatable, to Kingsdown beach by the Zetland Arms.
It is understood they were staying at the village’s campsite and were not local.
A spokesman said: “The kids were in the path of our normal sea safari route along the coast which is too far offshore.
"They were evidently distressed and in need of assistance.”
The rescue has prompted a safety message to those out enjoying the good weather.
A spokesman continued: “Please be safe and vigilant along our coastline.
"Why not use the shelter of Dover Harbour where the beaches aren’t affected by strong tidal streams and currents?”
