Firefighters have issued safety advice after a handbag caught alight on a hob.
Crews were called to the kitchen fire in Clifford Gardens in Deal at 4.15pm yesterday.
Wearing breathing apparatus and using a hose reel jet, they extinguished a handbag alight on the hob.
A high pressure fan was also used to clear the building of smoke.
Following this incident, firefighters are reminding people to keep hobs clean and clear to reduce the risk of fire.
A spokesman said: "Never leave items on the hob, and be sure to keep things like tea towels and food packaging at a safe distance."
