Actresses Katherine Kelly and Joanne Froggatt have been spotted filming in Kent for the second series of Liar.
The former Coronation Street star is captured shooting a tense scene for the hit ITV drama alongside her female co-star in Marine Road, Deal.
KentOnline has exclusive footage of the shoot, which shows a potential spoiler to fans of the show.
The new cast member who plays DI Karen Renton appears to pull an evidence bag from her right pocket before holding it up in front of Frogratt who plays English teacher Laura Nielson.
Frogatt, who fell victim to rapist Andrew Earlham played by Ioan Gruffudd and is likely to be in the frame for his murder, can be seen shaking her head before being directed into what is thought to be an unmarked police car.
The scene is then cut.
The actors were joined by a large number of sound and lighting crew as well as hair and make-up artists who made adjustments between cuts.
Presenter Alison Hammond was also spotted at the site.
Crew told our reporter that she had filmed an interview with the stars which will be aired on This Morning.
It is the second day of filming in the town for crew members who were also captured under Deal Pier yesterday.
Producers confirmed they would return to Deal to film a second series the day after the final episode of the first series in October 2017.
Camera crews were previously spotted in north Deal in December last year and again in Kingsdown - including inside The Zetland Arms pub - in April 2019.
It is thought they will be in Deal until Friday with filming for the show concluding next week.
Crew at the scene teased that shows usually airs three months after the end of filming which means it could go out to the nation as early as September - exactly two years after the first series.
ITV has been approached for a comment.
The second series will consist of six hour-long episodes, picking up three weeks after an arrest warrant was issued for Andrew Earlham for the sexual assault of 19 women.
A huge 9.1m viewers were left reeling at the discovery of Andrew Earlham’s murdered body at the climax of the first series, which was ITV’s highest rated new drama of the year.
Parts of the first series were filmed in Deal and Kingsdown during November 2016 and January 2017, with the town featuring in all six episodes.
Production teams had taken over two houses in the town during shooting, one towards the north end of The Marina, which is the home of Laura Nielson played by Froggatt and the other in Wellington Parade in Kingsdown, the home of her sister.
The town’s pier featured as a prominent backdrop, with other scenes capturing Jasin’s Restaurant now Deal Pier Kitchen, Deal Beach Parlour and the Hope & Lane cafe in the High Street opposite St George’s Church.
The series has been commissioned for ITV by Head of Drama, Polly Hill.
She said: “We’re delighted both Joanne and Ioan are returning to Liar as Laura and Andrew with Katherine Kelly joining the cast as DI Karen Renton.
"We’re sure audiences will once again be gripped by the story as Harry and Jack Williams keep you guessing over who killed Andrew."
Liar is a co-production of Two Brothers Pictures for ITV and SundanceTV in association with all3media international.
