The
world's most expensive yacht stops off at Dover

The world’s most expensive yacht, the £130-million Octopus,
owned by Paul Allen the co-founder of Microsoft, paid a brief visit
to Dover on Monday.

The yacht, which is 414-feet long is the 12th largest
super-yacht in the world and the fifth largest not owned by a head
of state. It comes complete with an open-air swimming pool, of
course, but also has two helicopters, jet skis and seven tenders,
as well as two submarines, one of which can be operated by remote
control for studying the bottom of the sea.

Built in 2003 in Germany, the yacht was in Dover for around two
hours, during which time one of the helicopters landed, and took
off again, heading inland across east Kent. Whether the owner, Mr
Allen, was on board is not known.

When it left Dover the yacht was heading for Hamburg.
