A three-vehicle smash blocked a road and caused delays.

Delays of up to 40 minutes were reported after the A258 Dover Road was closed in both directions between Ringwould Road and Ripple Road.

A passerby noted three cars damaged on the route which runs towards Deal.

Fire crews were called to the scene at around 4.49pm.

A spokesman added: “Two fire engines attended, and crews assisted Kent Police in making the scene safe.”

Police say they also attended the collision which involved a car and a van.

Officers assisted with clearing the road and recovering the vehicles.

Nobody was injured and crews left the site at 5.18pm.
