The air ambulance leaves the scene at Channel View Road, Dover.

A man died on Tuesday after apparently falling about 20 feet at a warehouse in Dover.

Emergency services were called to Channel View Road at 11.20am after reports that the man, who was 61 and from Folkestone, had fallen through a roof and suffered critical injuries.

It is understood he was engaged on guttering work when he fell through a skylight.

Paramedics, two Dover fire crews and the air ambulance were called to the scene, together with a hazardous area response team.

The ambulance crews carried out chest surgery at the scene before flying him to the major trauma centre at the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel. But he died soon after arrival.

The Health and Safety Executive are investigating what happened and an inquest will be held.
