The body of a man was found washed up on the beach in the north end of Deal today.

The male body was recovered by the RNLI and taken to Walmer lifeboat station.

It was found at 11.45am and police were alerted by the coastguard.

Police spokesman Jon Green said: "The man was aged in his 40s and police are informing his next of kin.

"The incident is not being treated as suspicious."
