A man's body has been washed up off the coast of Deal.

Dover Coastguard alerted police at 11.45am today after the body was found on the beach in the north end of Deal.

The body was recovered by the RNLI and taken to Walmer Lifeboat station.

Police media spokesman Jon Green said: "The man was aged in his 40s and police are informing his next of kin. The incident is not being treated as suspicious."
