Dover boss Martin Hayes says there are two ways of reflecting on his side’s start to the Blue Square Bet South season - and it depends on your mindset.
Whites started brightly with back-to-back 4-0 wins but since then have lost 1-0, drawn 2-2 and then recorded consecutive stalemates at home to Tonbridge on Saturday and at Sutton on Monday.
Hayes (pictured) admitted: "A lot of people are either glass half full or glass half empty at the moment.
"People say to me, we have only taken three points out of 12, which doesn’t sound great, but at the same time we have only lost one in six and we’ve scored 10 and conceded three in that time, which doesn’t sound so bad."
Hayes said he was confident his side would get back to winning ways, hopefully at promotion-rivals Chelmsford on Saturday.
He said: "Big games suit us and hopefully we’ll be able to go there with a full squad to choose from.
"We have not played as badly as the results might suggest, we have played well enough to win games, but by our own doing we have not produced, we have not scored the goals. Once we click again I’m confident we will go on a good run."
Keeper Lee Hook (ribs) should return to training on Thursday but Hayes is keen to discuss Ruiz’ future with the Venezualan, and the Dover boss is set to welcome back striker Billy Bricknell – who missed Monday’s game with a hamstring strain.
