Dover manager Martin Hayes admitted he enjoyed his afternoon on the big stage on Saturday.
Whites went down 2-0 to Huddersfield in their FA Cup third round tie following a memorable run in the competition.
Hayes said: "You always want to be ambitious and push yourself to the highest level.
"I am enjoying working at Dover and want us to achieve Conference Premier football.
"The chairman then wants to try and get into the Football League and I would love to achieve that with the club."
He added: "Further down the line I would love the opportunity to work full-time with players every day and work with youngsters.
"It’s only what chairmen out there think you are worth but a lot of them don’t like giving young managers a chance.
"They prefer to go with ones who have been sacked elsewhere and that’s the way it works in this game."
