Martin Hayes has called on his squad to use Saturday’s FA Trophy clash with Woking to convince him to pick them in the following week’s bumper FA Cup clash with Aldershot.
Dover boss Hayes (pictured), who attended Aldershot’s Tuesday night replay win over Brentford, will aim to keep his side’s focus on the task in hand rather than the tantalising prospect of taking a Football League scalp in front of 5,000 fans at Crabble next weekend and booking a dream third round date with one of the Premier League giants.
He said: "All our games are big games. Facing Woking still stirs memories of the play-off defeat last season and we know they play long and direct, having won away at the start of the season.
"We want to get a good result on Saturday so we can go into the FA Cup game with confidence. I want the players to perform and I want to be given a problem.
"I have a squad of 18 good players. Maybe I want to make changes. I want the players to show me they deserve to be in the team."
Elliot Charles (hamstring) is likely to miss out on Saturday but Tom Wynter (ankle) could return.
