Martin Hayes says he is keen to spend some of the six-figure sum generated by Dover’s FA Cup heroics to strengthen their challenge for promotion to Blue Square Bet Premier.
The Whites boss added two loan players to the squad before Saturday’s 1-0 win at promotion rivals Welling and has not ruled out further acquisitions.
With clashes against promotion-chasers Ebbsfleet at Crabble on Saturday and at Bromley on Tuesday to come, Hayes (pictured) said: "I have sat down with the chairman and basically we have half a season’s worth of games in the next three months. He’s said we can beef up the squad and add some quality.
"The cup cash is there for me to improve. It’s not all going in the bank never to be seen again. It will be spent wisely – I won’t bring anyone in for the sake of it. They will be the right players."
As well as signing Rushden midfielder Lewwis Spence, 23, and 20-year-old Barnet striker Danny Kelly, Hayes has targeted a defender among other upgrades.
He said: "I am looking at another couple. I want to bring in someone who can make an impact."
