Martin Hayes wants to sign at least two new players to bolster his injury-hit squad before the Blue Square Bet South trip to fellow play-off chasers Farnborough on Saturday.
Midfielder Sam Cutler picked up a knee injury after only 10 seconds into Tuesday night’s 2-2 draw against Woking and skipper Rob Gilman suffered a suspected broken collarbone soon afterwards, with both players replaced inside the opening 15 minutes.
Striker Elliott Charles is struggling with a hamstring injury, while midfielder Joe Tabiri is unavailable due to personal reasons, leaving Hayes short of options.
He said: "We need some bodies into the club, and my phone bill is going to be high this month. I am looking to bring in a defender and another central midfielder.
"They will probably be loans at this stage but the money is there if we need it."
Top scorer Adam Birchall started the Woking game on the bench, after picking up a calf niggle in Saturday’s FA Cup game at Huddersfield.
Birchall will be eager to face Farnborough in the fourth meeting between the two clubs this season, having scored two hat-tricks against the Hampshire side already.
