Martin Hayes says a minimum of eight points from Dover’s four festive games in Blue Square Bet South is top of his wishlist this Christmas.
The Whites boss says while his side are not going to be able to cement a playoff place over Christmas and New Year period, they could go a long way toward losing a berth with a poor run in the home and away clashes with Bromley, the visit of Lewes and the trip to Thurrock in the space of eight days.
Hayes, whose side lie fifth, said: "You look at the batch of games and you think you’d like to win your home games and get a least a draw away.
"I think seven or eight points from the 12 would be a good return. I’m looking for more than that but if you offered me eight, I’d take it."
Joint leaders Bromley away are first up on Boxing Day and Hayes said: "They are coming off a 7-0 beating and that normally doesn’t happen in our league.
"I am sure they are hurting from that still but we’re still reeling from letting in two goals last week (against Maidenhead) , so we want to put that right before we return home to play Lewes on Tuesday."
He added: "We know we can overtake Bromley if we win both games. If a team can string four wins together, then it would put them right up the table but if you lose all 12 points, then you’ll fall away."
