Matthew Emmerson won a bronze medal on his GB debut when taking part in the Hyde Park Elite Para-Tri on Sunday.
The 24-year-old from Sandwich recently took up triathlon following a serious knee injury more than two years ago that stopped him playing rugby.
Emmerson (pictured) completed the 750m swim in the Serpentine in 15min 53sec, followed by a 20km bike ride in 37.19 and a 5km run in 20.09.
His overall time of 1:16.00 including transitions saw him to third place and he was the first GB athlete to cross the line in his category.
