A moped rider was taken to hospital after a crash involving a car.

Emergency services were called to Victoria Road in Deal this afternoon following the collision.

There were reports of delays in the area as the road was blocked as a result of the incident.

A police spokesman said: “We were called to a report of a collision involving a car and a moped in Victoria Road, Deal, shortly before 2pm today.

“Officers attended along with paramedics and the moped rider was taken to a local hospital.”

It is understood the moped rider’s injuries were not life-threatening but the ambulance service did not confirm this.

A spokesperson said: “Crews assessed and treated one female patient at the scene before taking them to William Harvey Hospital for further medical treatment.”
