Kent Miners' Festival is looking for health volunteers and community groups to offer advice at its disabled and wellbeing area.
The festival, which celebrates the mining heritage in the community, will once again be held at Betteshanger Community Park on August bank holiday weekend.
It will be expanding its popular charity marquee to offer advice and information to disabled and vulnerable visitors.
This has been organised by Chris Tough and John Worthington.
Mr Tough said: “We’re looking for groups throughout the area to have a stall for promotional needs to encourage people to understand that they are not alone.”
Trudy’s Wheels will be offering free transport to anyone with visual impairment or disability issues to and from the festival.
The 2010 KMF included a Your Health Your NHS marquee, which saw more than 100 visitor referrals.
They held several clinics and health checks for visitors to take advantage of in order to catch illnesses and ailments and possibly save one or two lives.
The festival is looking to resurrect this and needs NHS, health or wellbeing groups to take part.
Mr Tough said: “We’re looking at 10,000 people going through the festival.
“It’s a great catchment. People can look in and get advice.”
There will be advice on prostate and breast cancer, palliative care and other vital services.
So far the Blind Society, Senior Citizens Forum, Deal Mobility and MCCH – supporting people with autism, disabilities and mental health issues have signed up.
More stalls like this are urged to get in touch.
