A mum from Deal is on a mission to raise £4,000 to buy helmets to help correct her twin sons' flat head syndrome.
Megan Todd of Mill Road initially thought only seven-month-old Billy would require intervention.
His irregularities were picked up at his eight week check up and he has been receiving physiotherapy since.
But at a clinic appointment last week, the married mum of five was shocked to be told that Billy's twin brother, Sidney, would also require treatment to manage his head growth.
The items are classed as cosmetic and therefore not funded by the NHS.
She now faces an almost £4,000 bill to pay for their treatment which will include consultations, helmet manufacture, fitting and follow up appointments.
She has organised a charity quiz at Deal Welfare Club in Cowdray Square on Friday, February 18, and her husband Jack, 28, is planning a charity football match.
Ms Todd, 30, who is a twin herself, said: "We feel we owe it to the boys to try and correct it while there is still time. They are our perfect, precious adorable little boys."
Both of the children's conditions have been classed as 'severe' and if left would result in a large bone lump on the back of their heads.
In turn, this will affect them wearing helmets or glasses.
The issues, Mrs Todd has been told, are likely to be due to their heads being close together in the womb.
The cost of each helmet is £1,745. The boys will have to wear them for 23 hours a day for a minimum of 20 weeks.
Mrs Todd, who has set up a JustGiving page, added: "We were trying to get together £1,745 for one and now we need double.
"It really seems unfair this treatment isn't available on the NHS.
"People often use the analogy if your teeth are crooked and not straight you can wear a brace to correct your teeth, but yet there is nothing they will do if your baby's head isn't formed properly.
"A skull is far, far more important than teeth.
"We have been trying to find the funds ourselves, but it has been hard, and so were advised to try and fundraise for our little boys. We really appreciate all your help and donations."
The quiz, starting at 7.30pm, is £2.50 entry per person, with a maximum of eight per team.
There will also be a raffle with prizes including an 18-hole round of golf for four people at Walmer and Kingsdown Golf Club.
