The Deal Savoyards will perform Gilbert and Sullivan’s comic opera Patience at the Astor Theatre in Stanhope Road, Deal, tomorrow.
Patience was the sixth operatic collaboration of 14 between the pair.
It broke box office records at its premiere at the Savoy Theatre, London, becoming the most popular in the series at that time.
It is a love story lampooning both love itself and the social behaviour of the day and follows the story of Patience, a beautiful milkmaid who is loved by poet Reginald Bunthorne.
The production, sponsored by Solley’s Dairy Farm, will take place at 7.30pm from tomorrow (Wednesday) until Saturday.
Tickets cost £9 in advance and £10 on the night at the door, subject to availability.
