My wish - to see Debbie again

The disappearance of pregnant mother Debbie Griggs will overshadow the golden wedding anniversary celebrations of her parents Pat and Brian Cameron on Saturday.

Mother-of-three Debbie was 34 and four-and-a-half months pregnant when she went missing from her home in Cross Road, Walmer, on Wednesday, May 5, 1999.

The family has now come to the conclusion she is dead, but Mrs Cameron, of Wilson Avenue, Deal, said the fact no body or remains had been found meant she still had a tiny glimmer of hope.

"The best thing that could happen would be if she turned up out of the blue at our party," she said."

Media appeals for Debbie to come home or for information have led to nothing.

The most recent was a story in Take a Break magazine two weeks ago and a television programme on missing people.

Mrs Cameron is convinced her daughter was murdered.

She said: "The police found her car a week later with no fingerprints at all. She wouldn’t have had time to clean her car if she was running away."

Anyone with information should ring the police on 01303 289617.
