A new film due to be broadcast tomorrow (Sunday) to raise awareness of Prostate Cancer stars Deal’s homegrown talent, Neil Stuke.
Father’s Day will be shown on ITV4 at 11.15pm on Father’s Day and also features Ray Winstone, Charles Dance, John Simm, Stuart Laing, Cyril Nri, and Tamzin Outhwaite.
Neil Stuke has spokoen to the East Kent Mercury about the mystery surrounding the film and how they have every hope of cinema success.
He said: “It starts off like an average heist movie but it’s actually a group of men who have got various stages of prostate cancer who meet and talk about it in a support group. The point of it is to encourage people to go out and get checked for prostate cancer and to raise awareness of how to deal with it.”
“Ray Winstone may appeal to people that don’t usually think about health, he’s an old mate of mine as we’ve worked on a film together before so he was great to work with.”
Neil’s character Billy in the BBC series Silk also has prostate cancer and so he is familiar with emulating the emotions involved. Which is why he wanted to get involved with the charity, producing the film and starring in it and has been a great opportunity to raise Prostate Cancer UK’s profile.
The 18-minute film airs as part of ITV’s week long corporate responsibility campaign, Stand By Your Man.
