Friends Gina Herbert and Kirsty Boyce are trying to capture the spirit of picnics in their new business - an open air cafe.
The pair formerly launched what they’ve named Beyond the Pale at the Walmer Food & Drink Festival in June, and have now started trading from their movable van at Walmer Court Farm, off the Dover Road.
Mrs Herbert said: “It’s very much a summer thing."
“We’ll be serving cakes, hot drinks and healthy food including wheat and dairy-free products.
“At weekends we’ll be doing hot food like pulled pork and burgers.”
Kiddies’ yoga takes place on Mondays throughout August, and on Fridays it’s musical hour for children and Teddy Bears’ Picnics.
For Gina and Kirsty it’s all about loving the outdoors, and in true country picnic style, customers should be mindful that there are no toilet facilities.
Beyond the Pale is open Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays weather permitting and is bookable for events, and other catering needs.
