Deryck Murray is to become the new mayor of Deal.

This will be his second time as mayor, following his spell in 2005.

Deputy mayor is set to be David Cronk.

Councillors made these appointments at a council meeting last night. The official mayor making will take place on Friday, May 23, where councillors will take a final vote.
