Defender Olly Schulz was a surprise inclusion in the Dover Athletic line-up for the Kent Cup tie against Hythe on Tuesday night.

Earlier in the day the club had announced on their own website that Schulz had his contract terminated by mutual consent.

Whites boss Nicky Forster explained: "What happened was that a club came in for him and everyone seemed to be happy with the deal, but then at the last minute Olly felt there was a slight change to it and so he decided against it."

As a result, Schulz was asked to play against Hythe in a Dover team which contained several first-team regulars, but their presence wasn’t enough to prevent the Ryman Division 1 South side from recording a deserved 3-0 victory.
