Gardening enthusiasts can see how a community garden has progressed in a little used section of English Heritage land.
The Captain's Garden at Deal Castle has open day on Bank Holiday Monday, August 31.
Dating from 1733, the space was a 1.2 acre walled formal garden, that became a kitchen garden in 19th Century.
In the next century, it became a market garden.
Since 1979 the garden has been out of use.
In 2018 volunteers from Deal With It green matters group and Deal Hop Farm started to bring parts of the garden back into use in partnership with the managing charity English Heritage.
There will be one way system around the garden on the open day and booking slots limited to six people.
Booking is essential which is free.
A statement from Deal With It said: "The garden is a work-in-progress so paths can be uneven and rough. So may not be suitable for all at the moment."
A change of use has been approved for the vacant land which will become a 28 seater restaurant.
Dover District Council approved English Heritage's plans earlier this month.
The existing cottage will be converted into a kitchen/restaurant.
A pedestrian crossing will be built to allow safer crossings from the castle and its car park.
