Walmer Paddling Pool is closed today due to minor damage to the pool surface.

Your Leisure, who lease the site from Dover District Council, has made the decision to close the popular summer attraction after work carried out in the winter has started to “peel”.

Contractors have been called in to reinstate the work, which is still under guarantee.

Managing director Steve Davis is hoping the work will be completed today.

He said: “Hopefully it will dry overnight and we might be able to fill it tomorrow morning.”

A statement on their website reads: “The pool will be closed from Monday, July 6 and weather permitting it is our intention to open Saturday July 11.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

The pool could open sooner.
