Presentations for the £40 million Betteshanger Sustainable Parks Project will be made at two public meetings next month.

The green technologies site will be based at the former Betteshanger Colliery and hopes to provide 1,000 jobs.

Mark Lumsdon-Taylor, executive project director, will be giving a presentation for councillors and the public at a Deal Town Council meeting on Monday, March 16, at 7.15pm, and at a meeting of the Great Society being held at Great Mongeham Parish Hall on Thursday, March 19, at 7.30pm.

The development will include a 64,583sq ft green technologies business park, a research, development and education centre and an eco-visitor centre.

The first phase of the project will see a visitor centre, re-siting and upgrading the children’s play area and alterations to internal access road and parking at Fowlmead Country Park.

This was given planning permission by the district council in October last year.
