An elderly woman has been flown to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a van in Deal.

The pedestrian, in her 90s, was struck by a grey Volkswagen Transporter in Queen Street at 6.15pm yesterday.

She was airlifted to a specialist unit in London, where she remains in a serious condition.

The driver of the vehicle, which was travelling west towards London Road, was unhurt.

Police now want to hear from witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage.
