Armed police were called in to deal with a distressed man feared to have a weapon.
The team was called to an address in Deal at 6.20am today.
A police spokesman said: "Kent Police were called following concern for a distressed man claiming to be in possession of a weapon.
"Armed officers attended the area near to St Nicholas Close where a 48-year-old man was arrested.
"No weapons were located and no injuries have been reported."
Police this morning said that the man remained in their custody and officers were still in the area carrying out enquiries.
