Houses were cordoned off in a Deal road after a postman found a man dead.
Ambulance crews were called to Victoria Road at about 5.30am, on Thursday, following concerns for the welfare of a man.
Police have confirmed the death of the man, who was found with head injuries.
The road was cordoned off for more than three hours with a forensic investigation van at the scene.
Homeowners David and Ann Bridgen confirmed the body was found on their driveway, below scaffolding.
Mr Bridgen told KentOnline: “I was awoken by voices in the street. I looked out and saw the postman coming onto the drive. I got out of bed and went downstairs. I saw the body of a man on the floor.”
He described the man as “between 50 to 65”.
He added: “I was very shocked. My heart goes out to the man and his relatives. There was no attempted entry to the house.”
Police spokesman Jon Green said: “We were called to Victoria Road in Deal at 5.27am today by SECAMB who were concerned for the welfare of a man who was lying in a garden with a head injury.
“The man was pronounced dead by a paramedic at the scene. His next of kin has been informed.
