An alert at the port of Dover for a 14-year-old girl who was missing from Doncaster has been called off after she was found safe and well in London.
Border Force and police officers at the port had been asked to look out for Lorna Vickerage who was believed to be with 35-year-old John Bush, also from Doncaster.
The pair had last been seen on Wednesday in Highfields. It was reported that Mr Bush introduced Lorna to a local couple referring to her as his daughter.
Descriptions of Lorna and Mr Bush were circulated, together with details of a car they were believed to be travelling in.
But they have been found in London. Lorna is being returned to her home and Mr Bush is being held at a police station for questioning.
Detective Chief Inspector Craig Robinson of South Yorkshire Police said: "John Bush was arrested on suspicion of child abduction at Euston Station.
"We followed a trail from Watford to London where they tried to book into a hotel.
"Plain clothes officers from British Transport Police saw them at Euston Station and arrested Mr Bush.
"We are now organising interviews of the pair.
"I would like to thank the media and everyone that has been in touch. Without all of you people, we would never have been able to recover her."
