THE mother of a woman missing for the past eight years has been told by a psychic that he believes she is dead.
Debbie Griggs, 34, a mother-of-three who was expecting her fourth child, was last seen May 5 1999 after leaving her home in Walmer, near Deal.
A week later, her car was found in Deal, 1.3 miles (2.1 km) from her home.
Despite exhaustive attempts to trace her, Kent Police have been unable to find any clues as to her whereabouts.
But now Debbie's mother, Patricia Cameron, from Deal, has turned to psychic Joe Power, who specialises in murder and missing persons, in a search for answers.
Mr Power said: "I believe without doubt that Debbie is in the spirit world and she has made contact with me."
Mr Power said she gave him images of the place the police need to search, which is where he took Debbie's mother Pat Cameron on Tuesday morning.
"She showed me an area near farmland, with tractor tyre marks," said Mr Power.
When they reached the location he said he was guided to an area of waste land.
"I felt it was the place and if the police follow this up I feel they could find the answers to Debbie's disappearance," said Mr Power. He said he also felt that the water tower in St Richard's Road, Walmer, close to her Cross Road home, was significant. "I was given a crystal clear vision of a water tower," he said.
Mr Power said he will keep in touch with Mrs Cameron but his job is done. He added: "I hope Pat's search for Debbie will soon be over, so the family can move on with their lives."
Pat Cameron says she is convinced Mr Power has made contact with her daughter and she has shown them her final resting place.
Mrs Cameron wants police to follow up the new information and take the psychic investigator’s revelations seriously.
“I have got to convince them it is worth looking into, no matter how sceptical they may be about the use of clairvoyants," she said.
Mrs Cameron said it had been painful to hear that Mr Power had made contact with Debbie in the spirit world even though she has known for a long time that her daughter is not coming home.
“I did break down during our conversation but I have no regrets about going through with this," she added.
“If the police won’t search the site that Debbie has led us to I may have to do it myself, even if they throw the book at me.”
