Residents in the surrounding roads such as North Road received letters from the television company to warn them of the filming.
It began around 8.30am and is expected to continue until 8pm.
Dunkerleys Hotel and Restaurant in Beach Street, Deal, has confirmed that filming also took place inside one of its hotel rooms, yesterday.
Crews parked their vans in Middle Street car park by Deal Library in preparation of the shooting the scene.
More filming is expected to take place in the area next month.
Producers, on the day after the final episode of series 1 in October 2017, confirmed they would return to Deal to film a second instalment.
Since then, they have been spotted only once in the town, filming along The Marina in north Deal in December.
The second series will also be six hour-long episodes, picking up three weeks after an arrest warrant was issued for Andrew Earlham for the sexual assault of 19 women.
It has been written once again by Jack Williams and Harry Williams of Two Brothers Pictures and is expected to be transmitted late in 2019.
Last week, it was announced that actress Katherine Kelly will join the cast for the second series.
She will play DI Renton, alongside Joanne Froggatt and Ioan Gruffudd for what producers have hailed the final chapter of the gripping drama.
The actress who made her name as Becky McDonald in Coronation Street has since gone to star in Mr Selfridge, The Night Manager and most recently Cheat.
Writers Harry and Jack Williams, who also masterminded The Missing, said: “It has been a joy returning to Liar and our reunion with Joanne and Ioan.
"Equally we are thrilled to have Katherine Kelly on board as DI Renton after her stellar performance in Cheat.”
Other new characters include Howard Charles who has starred in The Widow and Musketeers as Carl Peterson and Amy Nuttall from Downton Abbey and My Fair Lady as Winnie Peterson.
