M&Co in Deal High Street runs guess the weight of pumpkin competition for Cancer Research UK

M&Co in Deal High Street is running a guess the weight of the pumpkin competition in aid of Cancer Research UK.

The competition has been organised by sales advisor Kerry Bates and store manager Sue Hewin. The pumpkin is one of 12 grown by Ms Bates’ partner David Ward on his allotment in Telegraph Road. He has been growing the fruit for 15 years.

Whoever makes the most accurate guess will receive a Sanctuary Spa gift set and a bottle of wine.

Mrs Bates said: “Afterwards we’re hoping to donate the pumpkin to a charity to be cooked and given away to the homeless.

“If you know of a charity who would accept the pumpkin and be able to do this, please pop into the store and speak to me.”

This is the second fundraising event for the charity undertaken by the clothes shop. In September, they raised £488.80 from a fashion show.
