A love of Christmas and an admiration for Disney classics have prompted Rebecca Robinson from Deal to release her fifth album.
The classical singer was determined to find time in the recording studio between her busy schedule, which this year has included performing for a fourth year running at the Birmingham Military Tattoo at the National Indoor Arena and flying to Holland to fulfil appearances with the Dutch Liberation Army Band.
Rebecca has performed Disney songs at her shows for many years, but it wasn’t until her singing tutor suggested she record a compilation that the idea came to fruition. The album includes Can You Feel the Love Tonight from The Lion King and Bare Necessities from The Jungle Book.
She said: “I had considered recording a Christmas themed album and was looking to include one or two Disney songs. That became the catalyst for a change in direction. I was surprised that I already had seven or eight Disney songs in my repertoire and I knew of several others I wanted to learn.
“It was the most fun I’ve ever had in the studio and I’m delighted with the production.”
Rebecca’s appearances have included singing on the Deal Memorial Bandstand at Walmer Green for the annual visit from the Band of HM Royal Marines from Portsmouth.
The album The Disney Collection is out now and is available to download on iTunes or buy directly from Rebecca’s website at www.rebecca-robinson.co.uk.
The CD is also available exclusively in Deal at Roper’s Stationers in the High Street.
