Deal girl Rozzy Turner will return to television screens on Saturday as she takes part in the battle rounds of BBC talent show The Voice UK.
It will be the second appearance of the former Warden House and St Edmund’s pupil on the show after superstar coach will.i.am turned his chair for her during the auditions.
She will go up against Essex rapper Brooklyn Lammiman, before one of them is chosen to go through to the next stage of the competition.
Miss Turner, 33, already knows her fate as it was filmed in October last year, but cannot reveal it.
She said: “My battle should be at the start of the show. I’m looking forward to seeing it!
“We sing Paradise City by Guns ‘N’ Roses which is right up my street. It wasn’t a hard song for me to sing as it took me straight back to seven years ago when I was singing similar stuff in a rock band.
“The line up this week is amazing. It’s going to be great to watch. There’s a couple of results that will shock viewers I think.”
The rock singer, who now lives in Guildford, Surrey, has had a great response from the public since being on the show.
Last weekend, she returned to Deal to visit her parents, Richard and Janet, who live in London Road.
She went for dinner at the Three Compasses in Beach Street and couldn’t leave the town without popping in to Deal Beach Parlour.
She also visited Canterbury where she was recognised in the High Street.
She said: “I always look forward to coming home. I’m so happy that my home town is proud of me. I will always be ‘the girl from Deal’ and I wouldn’t want that to change.
“To be able to share this with my home town, friends old and new and my family is the reason I am on the show – to finally do what I’ve always been told I could do if I put my mind to it.”
Tune into BBC1 at 7.15pm to watch Rozzy.
