SeaFrance has resumed cross-Channel ferry services.

Crossings were suspended for five days, due to French workers staging strike action over changes to work practices.

Originally planned as a 48-hour stoppage, it was extended several times, with the action finally being called off at 8am on Wednesday April 7.

It is estimated that the strike has cost the company around £1 million, with thousands of customers being transferred to other operators for their cross-Channel sailings.
