A young woman in her 20s has died after being hit by a silver Vauxhall Astra on Dover Road, near Ringwould.
Kent Police confirmed the vehicle was travelling along a rural section of the A258 at 8.40pm on Saturday night when it was in a collision with a pedestrian in the main carriageway.
A local woman in her 20s was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigating officer, PC Jamie Woodhams of Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "Although we have several witnesses having seen the woman walking towards Dover, I would urge anyone who was travelling this section of road between Dover and Deal, which was about 700m prior to the junction with Ripple Road, to contact us as soon as possible."
A spokesman for SECAmb confirmed an ambulance was at the scene and assigned an air ambulance to assist which landed near to the incident.

There were unconfirmed reports of a similar vehicle driving with its doors open in Mill Road in Deal earlier on Saturday and hitting another vehicle before driving off. Kent Police could not confirm this incident but said there was no link between the two.
