Detectives are hunting a sex predator after a woman was grabbed from behind as she walked along a Deal road.
The woman, in her forties, reported the alleged attack on February 1, but police have only just released an appeal.
The victim is said to have been walking along Blenheim Road at around 7.20pm when she became aware of a man walking on the other side of the road towards the town centre.
She crossed the road, to be grabbed by the throat from behind, before she was assaulted.
As the victim screamed, the suspect stopped attacking her and fled. She ran to report the attack to neighbours.
Investigating officer Constable Jennifer Hewitt of Kent Police said: "I commend the victim for reporting what must have been a terrifying attack.
"We would like anyone who heard or saw anything suspicious around that time, to contact Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting ZY/3162/15."
