Two sisters have gone for the chop in selfless acts that will help three good causes.
Kira and Tegan Halford Dunn, aged 12 and eight, had their locks lopped raising more than £600 for Cancer Research UK and the Kelly Turner fund.
Their hair, beautifully plaited before their restyle, will be donated to the Little Princess Trust, a charity that makes wigs for youngsters who are undergoing treatment for cancer.
“It was all their own idea,” said proud mum Zoe, 37.
They decided they wanted to help Dover teen Kelly Turner when the 16-year-old’s parents put a poster up outside their St Richard’s Road home.
“At first they thought she had gone missing, but when they read it and realised what she was going through, they said they wanted to help.”

Kira and Tegan, who attend Sandwich Technology and Warden House primary schools respectively, have three siblings – Seren, 15, Lucas, 10 and Caden, nine months.
Ms Halford says they are all kind children.
“The most interest we’ve had was on the day the hair was being cut and people saw the video on the Facebook page.” This can be searched using the words Kira and Tegan’s Charity Chop.
The footage was viewed by more than 2,000 people in the first 24 hours and shows 12 inches of Kira’s hair measured and snipped.
The family’s regular hairdresser Kym Lund Smith cut the braids, taking 12in from Kira and 9in from Teegan, finishing off the girls’ new looks with stylish shoulder length crops.
Already £300 of the total amount raised has been donated to Cancer Research UK, a charity they wanted to support because they have known many people affected.
As more money continues to come in, they hope it will help Kelly, who is raising funds for treatment in America for her rare cancer.
The hair will be sent to the Little Princess Trust to make a wig that will restore the confidence of another youngster going through treatment. You can find out more about the trust by visiting: littleprincesses.org.uk
