Love and respect for inspirational young woman Adrienne Greenway will spur her sisters on in a charity run in her memory.
Adrienne, known as Ade by those close to her including actor Jude Law, died in January this year, aged 25, after bravely battling an extremely rare, debilitating, premature ageing condition.
Ade, who lived with her parents Stephen, known as Jim, and mum Allison, at Whitfield, near Dover, was an ambassador for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The charity makes dreams come true for children with life threatening illnesses.
Sisters nurse Hayley Pheiffer, who works in Canterbury, and Lindsay, together with her partner Dan, are doing a 10K run as a legacy to Ade and appealing for sponsors to meet their £1,500 target.
Hayley, 32, a community liaison nurse for the East Kent Alcohol Service in Canterbury, Lindsay and former King’s School pupil Dan, both 31, from Wye and the team behind Chaucher Facilities at Boughton Aluph, are participating in the British 10K London Run 2012 on July 8.
They hope Ade’s selfless efforts for others will continue to inspire donations. Hayley, of Nonington Court, Nonington, near Dover, said she hates running and may be reduced to jogging or walking but is determined to finish for Ade.
She has spoken to the Mercury about how her sister fought a condition which few survive beyond their teens.
Ade raised thousands for the charity, encouraging others to do the same, undeterred by rounds hospital treatment and investigations, and befriending stars along the way.
