The Deal Centre is calling for volunteers to help with its meal delivery service.
The centre in Park Street, which is a registered charity offering social opportunities for people aged over 50, started its meal delivery service eight months ago. In that short time, it has already exceeded the expectations of both the volunteers and managers.
Now, due to the sheer popularity of the meals, more volunteers are required.
Centre manager Helen Morgan said: “We are desperate for drivers. We’re getting so many orders, we need a minimum of three drivers a day, who would work from 11.30am to 2pm at the latest.”
People can help out in other ways including as a kitchen or serving volunteer, to serve teas to visitors, or by becoming a trustee or a befriender.
To volunteer or for more information visit the centre or call 01304 372608 and ask for the reception.
