Richard Wallis on his third PGA South Region Order of Merit tournament of the year in the Tylney Park Classic in Hampshire.

The Walmer & Kingsdown professional shot an eight-under-par total of 136 to win by three shots from James Ablett (Lee-on-Solent), Jamie Harris (Nevill) and Ben Daniels (Chipstead).

Wallis, the Order of Merit defending champion, fired rounds of 66 and 70.

He said: "I stayed patient and focused on my own game, despite all the fireworks from Jamie, Jabs and Ben.

"It was good fun and great to win my third Merit title in 2011."

Wallis, who reached Local Final Qualifying for this year’s Open at Sandwich, also finished joint first in the Tylney Park Classic Pro-Am with Gary Mark (World of Golf).
