A parish council which changed its name to town council to 'shake off a Vicar of Dibley image' is now asking residents to design its new logo.
Walmer Town Council is looking for a sign which "truly reflects the town in the 21st century".
The competition which runs until February 1 2022 is open to all; young or old, professional or amateur, and can include any image or colours.
The only stipulation is that the entrant should live in Deal, Walmer or Kingsdown.
The winning design will be selected by a panel, replacing the current logo which features the Duke of Wellington.
A spokesman said: "We are offering a small prize as a reward, but mainly the chance to have your design as part of the fabric of the town for many years to come."
The council will own all rights to the winning design.
Walmer councillors made the decision to alter the area's identity during a meeting in September.
Vice-chairman Mike Eddy said at the time: "We were getting cheesed off with being treated by other organisations as second class – there is a sort of Vicar of Dibley image.
"We do serious work. This is a question of being seen as having more clout."
He also explained it was because of the area's growing population.
It was shown to be exactly 6,693 in the 2001 census, then 8,178 in the 2011 one and is expected to be about 9,000 when the figures for 2021 are confirmed.

The change is permitted under the Local Government Act 1972.
A town council has the same powers as a parish authority, such as setting a localised charge as part of the council tax.
