Deal’s most successful annual coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support will be held on Saturday, September 24.
Georgina Bishop’s charity get-together started in her front room in Middle Street about 12 years ago. Since then she has raised more than £30,000.
The first one raised £250, and the yearly bash has grown significantly, hosted at local pubs with live music.
Following the success of last year’s coffee morning at The Alma, in West Street, Deal, this year’s event will again be held there from 11am to 3pm.
Mrs Bishop said: “I have a fantastic band of volunteers who help me make the coffee mornings so successful.
“I’m really hoping to beat what we raised last year.”
Among the contributors are the Dodge family.
Sisters Olivia and Hannah have been involved since they were little.
Olivia started off painting nails for donations but their business minds have matured and now she is making and selling accessories for dogs, while her sister is making and selling hampers for the third year running.
“They have helped since they were little,” said Mrs Bishop.
Many donations have been given by businesses and individuals for the raffle, including lots of meals at the town’s best restaurants.
The bar will be open and teas, coffees and cake will be on sale.
Donations for the raffle can be made by calling Georgina on 07757113503.
